Poll: “No” Has Slim Lead Over “Yes” For Right To Abortion Amendment

(Sioux Falls, SD) — A new poll says a proposed amendment that would provide South Dakotans with a constitutional right to an abortion will go down to the wire. A poll by KELO Land Media Group, Emmerson College Polling and The Hill has 48-percent of those surveyed against Amendment G, while 45-percent are in favor and seven-percent are unsure. A spokesperson for Vote No on Amendment G says the poll shows voters are learning how “extreme” the amendment is. A Vote Yes on Amendment G spokesperson says the poll reflects how much money opponents have spent on TV and radio ads, as well as billboards and yard signs. KELO Land says the poll was conducted this week between October 19th and 22nd.
