(Sioux Falls, SD) — Sioux Falls School District’s move to cancel gymnastics is now on pause. A judge has granted a preliminary injunction in the lawsuit against the state’s largest district in a fight to keep the program going. The rule says the district can’t sell equipment and must have gymnastics as a sport this winter as the case makes its way through federal court. The decision to pull the plug on the program, which represented a 75-thousand-dollar investment against a 320-million-dollar budget, was met with outrage by student gymnasts and their families. Attorneys representing the students were asking for the program to be reinstated for the 2023-24 school year.
