Public Restroom Incident Sends Reminder To All Parents

(Sioux Falls, SD) — Parents are being reminded to talk to their kids about being aware of their surroundings after a public restroom incident left a child shaken. Heather Gniffke wrote on Facebook yesterday that her husband, TJ, and her are still worried about their seven-year-old son after a visit to a local tire shop. She said her son went into the single-user public restroom and didn’t come out right away. She started to panic when her son eventually did come out but he did at the same time as an elderly man. A tire shop employee called the police after the seeing the boy’s reaction but an officer said there’s no evidence a crime took place. The Gniffkes say the incident still doesn’t sit right with them and they’re going to be more attentive to where their son goes now.
