PUC, Xcel Reach Settlement On Lower Rate

(Sioux Falls, SD) — Xcel Energy is lowering the amount it wants to increase electric service rates by. The utility company reached a settlement with the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission on Tuesday that lowers their requested rate. Last year, it asked to increase rates by about 18-percent, or about 20-dollars a month for the average customer. The approved increase is for around four dollars, 70 cents extra each month.
