(Rapid City, SD) — A Rapid City teen has made his first court appearance for charges related to a December 2023 mugging. Seventeen-year-old Jesse Walters is being tried as an adult and was in court Friday for an arraignment hearing. He and another suspect were allegedly involved in a mugging that happened in the parking lot of Rapid City’s Uptown Mall outside of Red Lobster. The two victims were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Walters is facing two charges of first-degree robbery and two charges of aggravated assault. The other suspect will remain in the juvenile court system.
