Rapid City Tower Under Construction Has Structural-Integrity Concerns

(Rapid City, SD) — Roads are closed, building are evacuated and authorities are urging people to avoid the area around Block Five in Downtown Rapid City. Police say they were notified of a structural-integrity issue. The foundation of one of the towers at the construction site is starting to shift, and an elevator tower is actually leaning. First responders have shut down Saint Joseph Street between 7th Street and 5th Street. No one has been injured at this point, but officials say there is a concern of a possible collapse.
