Recreational Marijuana Validated For 2024 Ballot

(Pierre, SD) — The decision to legalize recreational marijuana in South Dakota will be up to voters this year. Initiated Measure 29 is officially going on the ballot for November’s General Election. Secretary of State Monae Johnson’s Office validated and filed the initiated measure yesterday following a successful petition. A challenge can still be filed by any South Dakota citizen before 5 p.m. on July 3rd with an original, signed affidavit.
