Report Released From Ellsworth B-1 Crash

(Box Elder, SD) — More details are being revealed about the fiery January crash of a B-1 bomber at Ellsworth Air Force Base. According to United States Air Force officials, the crash was caused by multiple crew failures. Documents say the B-1B Lancer bomber touched down 100 feet short of the runway and skidded across the runway for more than five-thousand feet. The new report also blamed winter weather and a last-minute brush of wind that resulted in all four members ejecting from the aircraft. It was deemed a total loss, costing more than 450-million dollars.
