Report: SD Among Worst States For Winter Driving

(Sioux Falls, SD) — South Dakota is among the most dangerous states for winter driving. That’s according to MoneyGeek, which looked at data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration from 2019 to 2021. The study considered total fatalities during winter driving conditions that include sleet, snow, blowing snow, and freezing drizzle. South Dakota was in the top 15, with Michigan considered the most dangerous state for winter driving. The study found on average, 403 people die every year on snowy or icy roads.
