(Washington, DC) — Senator John Thune is reportedly donating four-million-dollars from his campaign fund to other Republicans running for the U.S. Senate. The Hill is reporting that Thune announced at a “special political strategy meeting” last week he was contributing the funds to the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Thune is considered one of the front-runners to succeed Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell as Republican Senate Leader, along with Texas Senator John Cornyn and Florida Senator Rick Scott. Thune told The Hill the purpose of the donation is to help Republicans win the majority in the November 6th election. Senate Republicans are scheduled to vote for a new leader on November 13th.
