(Sioux Falls, SD) — South Dakota-based Sanford Health says it’s discontinuing the merger process with Minnesota-based Fairview Health Services. It comes after months of meetings held by the Minnesota Attorney General. Many who attended them voiced their concerns with the merger. The Minnesota Nurses Association also opposed. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz signed a bill into law meant to prevent healthcare entities from merging in the event they could create a monopoly in May.
