(Sioux Falls, SD) — Researchers are finding new ways to better detect concussions. Sanford hosted a presentation Wednesday, breaking down some of the recent findings. Concussion expert and associate professor of kinesiology at the University of Virginia and SDSU Alumnus Jacob Resch led the presentation after he spearheaded research related to bio signals of the injury. Ways to identify the best measures for a concussion in order to streamline care for athletes and military members were involved in the presentation. Researchers say while nearly four-million concussions happen in the U.S. each year, only about ten-percent get reported.
