(Sioux Falls, SD) — Someone’s going to get coal from the Santa Claus at Sioux Falls’ Empire Mall. Dale Buxcel, who has been Santa at the mall for 27 years, posted on his Facebook that his dressing room was broken into. Whoever it was took his bag with his wallet and phone inside. Buxcel was in the news back in 2017 when he lost his home and belongings to a house fire, and the community rallied to help him through that tough time. Although this latest situation not being as disastrous, the Empire Mall Santa needs help again from anyone who might know something about the thieve to contact police.
