(Sioux Falls, SD) — Hundreds of new jobs are coming to South Dakota. CJ Schwan’s broke ground on a new food production facility yesterday in Sioux Falls. The project is finally becoming a reality after the company announced its plans three years ago. It’s supposed to specialize in the production of Schwan’s frozen Asian-style food line. Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken and Governor Noem joined company leaders for a special ceremony at the location at Foundation Park in the northwest part of the city. They say the 700-thousand square-foot facility is likely to create close to 700 jobs for the area. Construction is set to begin early next spring and will be completed in 2027.
