SD Civil And Criminal Actions Collects Nearly $2M In 2023

(Pierre, SD) — The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of South Dakota says nearly two-million dollars was collected in state civil and criminal actions last year. Those include criminal fines, restitution, loan defaults, bankruptcy, forfeiture and civil enforcement efforts. About one-point-five million dollars came from criminal cases, with close to one-point-two million being returned to victims of crime.
