(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota officials are asking drivers who need to renew their registration by March to get it done early. The Minnehaha County Treasurer’s office says South Dakota is implementing a new motor vehicle software beginning February 17th. However, vehicle registration renewals will be offline for the ten days prior. The 605Drive system is going to replace mySDCars, modernizing the state’s title, vehicle registration, and dealer system. Drivers within the February or March window to renew registration include last names that begin with C, D, E, F, G and J. Those people are encouraged to renew as soon as possible to avoid a longer waiting time. Registrations can be renewed 90 days before the current registration’s expiration date.
