(Pierre, SD) — A large portion of South Dakota is still enduring drought conditions into winter. The latest drought monitor reveals much of the region is lacking moisture right now. Over 60 percent of the state remains in severe or extreme drought. But an improvement could be coming as forecasts show more rain ahead in the coming weeks.
