(Pierre, SD) — Republicans are guaranteed more than a combined 50 seats in the South Dakota State Legislature even before the votes are counted. In the State Senate, 17 Republican candidates are running unopposed. In the State House, each district has two seats and 35 Republicans from districts that didn’t have four candidates running for the two seats are in. All Senate and House seats are up for election today.
