SD Habitat For Humanity Chapters Remember Carter

(Sioux Falls, SD) — South Dakota branches of Habitat for Humanity are remembering former President Jimmy Carter. Carter died Sunday at the age of 100. The 39th President visited South Dakota several times during his work as a public servant, including helping build around 30 homes in Eagle Butte back in 1994. Sioux Falls Habitat for Humanity Executive Director, Rocky Welker, says President Carter once said that the Habitat for Humanity job site is like the great equalizer, where class and other dividing lines fade away and people come together for the greater good. Governor Noem has ordered flags in the state to be flown at half-staff until January 28th to honor the former president.
