SD High Risk Of Financial Loss From Climate Change

(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota faces some of the highest financial risk in the country when it comes to climate change. That’s according to a recent study from Smart Asset, which compiled their list based on various weather events. South Dakota is second, only behind Louisiana, for the highest projected annual losses per person at over 455 dollars. The biggest threats are tornadoes, cold freezes, hail, ice storms and strong winds. This was determined with the latest data from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
