(Beadle County, SD) — A pair of turkey farms in South Dakota and North Dakota have been hit with bird flu. The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service found avian influenza last week in a Beadle County commercial turkey meat farm. Producers will have to cull nearly 76-thousand birds. This is the third confirmed case of bird flu in the state this year and is the largest outbreak so far. Avian flu was also discovered at a turkey farm in Dickey County, North Dakota, that borders South Dakota. At least 58-thousand-500 birds were affected in this outbreak.
