(Pierre, SD) — Primary Election Day is all but wrapped up in South Dakota. The Secretary of State’s Office website shows all but one of the state’s 690 precincts have reported. However, it appears to have been an exceptionally low voter turnout this year at only 12 percent with just over a hundred-thousand ballots cast from nearly 600-thousand registered voters. A few incumbents lost their seats or had very close races. But there is the possibility of a recount in three races. The results for each district can be found online at electionresults.sd.gov. To no surprise, President Biden and former President Trump each won their respective primaries across all states Tuesday.
