SD Prison Inmate Convicted On Charges Against Correctional Officer

(Pierre, SD) — A South Dakota Penitentiary inmate has been convicted on charges against a correctional officer. Attorney General Marty Jackley says 31-year-old Roland Miner is facing one felony count of Possession of a Weapon by an Inmate and two misdemeanor counts of Threatening a Law Enforcement Officer. Jackley said Miner was caught with a weapon while in prison and threatened an officer in November of 2022. He’s currently serving two sentences out of Minnehaha County and is facing a maximum sentence of 25-years on the new charges.
