(Washington, D.C.) — South Dakota Representative Dusty Johnson is adding to the state’s influence on Capitol Hill in 2025. Johnson was recently re-elected as the leader of the Main Street Caucus. It’s a group formed by house members that meets to push for common legislative goals. That makes Johnson a key advisor to Speaker of the House Mike Johnson being a caucus chairman. The Dakotas are building even stronger representation in D.C. as Johnson joins Senator John Thune, who’s becoming majority leader in the U.S. Senate, and Governor Noem primed to be Secretary of Homeland Security. North Dakota’s Governor Doug Bergum will also be Secretary of the Interior.
