SD Students Solar Eclipse Experience

(Sioux Falls, SD) — A group of South Dakota students are coming home after a unique experience viewing the total solar eclipse. Lower Brule science teacher Bree Oatman took several students to Texas for yesterday’s event to learn more about the science and conduct research. It was part of the Nationwide Eclipse Ballooning Project, where teams from all over the country are sending balloons into the sky to collect data during the eclipse. The Lower Brule students teamed up with the South Dakota-Wyoming team, which includes South Dakota Mines and several area schools.
