SD To Invest Millions In EMS Grants

(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota has plans to invest seven-point-five million dollars into Emergency Medical Services grants. The move from the Department of Health would be a first of its kind in the state. This funding actually began during the pandemic when 20 million dollars was put towards new equipment along with a study assessing the current state of EMS in South Dakota. The grants are intended to benefit ambulance services, healthcare organizations and private EMS companies that are working together to help make services across the state more sustainable. Friday is the deadline for organizations to submit applications for a share of the funding.
