SDPB Responds To Noem Budget Cut

(Pierre, SD) — Programming could be at risk for South Dakota Public Broadcasting with Governor Noem’s proposed budget cut. That’s according to Ryan Howlett with SDPB, who says high school sports coverage would definitely be lost as well as putting emergency weather alerts at risk. Noem proposed a three-point-six million dollar reduction in funding for SDPB on Tuesday. The five-point-five million dollars SDPB is now expected to receive in state funding for next year is less than half of the SDPB budget of 12 million.
