SDSU Athletes Part Of Competition To Raise Money for Childhood Cancer Research

(Brookings, SD) — While the Jackrabbits gear up to defend their title in Frisco this weekend, three South Dakota State athletes are competing with other FCS opponents for another trophy. Quarterback, Mark Gronowski, defensive end Quinton Hicks, and defensive tackle Brian Williams joined Northwestern Mutual and USD’s Quarterback, Aiden Bouman, to create the inaugural Northwestern Mutual National ALSF Cancer Champion Competition. It includes student-athletes from football teams at 11 different universities for the “Lemon Trophy” that will be presented at Saturday’s game in Frisco. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is a leading childhood cancer research organization that helps local families with travel for life-saving treatment for their children. The players have raised almost 30-thousand dollars so far with SDSU’s Brian Williams in the lead.
