(Washington, DC) — South Dakota’s U.S. Republican Senator John Thune is sharing his enthusiasm now that the GOP will reclaim majority control of the U.S. Senate. Thune released a statement late last night, saying “we can begin to turn the page on this expensive and reckless chapter of American history,” in reference to the Biden-Harris Administration. He went on to say he’s optimistic that President Trump will be successful. Thune was not up for re-election this year, but he hit the campaign trail hard over the last week in an effort to secure the majority in the Senate. Senator Thune now shifts his focus on becoming the Republican Majority Leader in the Senate as one of the top choices. That election is being held next Wednesday.
