(Sioux Falls, SD) — South Dakota is pushing for a life sentence against a man who is accused of killing an eight-week-old baby. Dylan Castimore pleaded guilty to one count of child abuse and one count of first-degree manslaughter for 2021 death of baby Daxton. Police say the baby boy suffered skull fractures, bruising and broken bones when he was left alone with his father in a Sioux Falls apartment. Multiple emergency service providers took to the stand during Castimore’s trial to explain the severity of Daxton’s injuries. The judge will sentence Castimore today after final statements from the prosecution and defense.
