(Sioux Falls, SD) — The Sioux Falls District is ramping up its efforts to improve school safety with new screening technology. According to a news release, the district partnered with Wisconsin-based Single Softwater to put their Visitor Aware software in 38 of the district’s buildings. The technology will screen visitors and identify potential issues before they’re able to gain full access to the schools. Visitor Aware uses ID scanning and facial recognition then compares that information with government watch lists, sex offender databases, and active legal injunctions.
