Shane Merrill Elected As SDDP Chair

(Pierre, SD) — The South Dakota Democratic Party has elected Shane Merrill as its new leader. It comes after the party voted to recall Jennifer Slaight-Hansen nearly a month ago. She was accused of creating a hostile work environment and violating parts of the state party’s constitution. Merrill had previously been vice chair and was serving as interim chair.
