(Sioux Falls, SD) — Several national civil rights organizations are showing their support for the gymnasts and parents who have an ongoing lawsuit against the Sioux Falls School District. The lawsuit says that the district violated Title Nine when it attempted to cut the gymnastics program. A brief was filed this week on behalf of Legal Aid at Work, A Better Balance, the California Women’s Law Center, Equal Rights Advocates and the Women’s Sports Foundation. According to the lawyer who filed the brief, the purpose is to push the fight for the rights of women and girls to participate fully in athletics.
