Sioux Falls Hosts A “World’s Longest Marathon” For Local Ukrainians

(Sioux Falls, SD) — Ukrainians are honoring their soldiers, doctors and volunteers of the war effort against Russia by creating their own marathon. It took place globally on Sunday with the name “World’s Longest Marathon,” and one group held a running in Sioux Falls. Ukrainian flags and symbols lined the path at Pasley Park and up the Greenway Trail System as local Ukrainians and others showing support ran or walked while wearing blue and gold. Their running bibs showcased important numbers and statistics from the war instead of random ones. Organizers and participants say they hope that those who saw them run will take time to think about and pray for their country, their home, the lives that were interrupted and the lives that were forever changed.
