Sioux Falls Man Facing Several Charges After Standoff

(Sioux Falls, SD) — A man is facing several charges after a standoff in Sioux Falls. Twenty-year-old Matthew Hill is charged with stealing at least seven cars, eluding police and crashing into a patrol car. Those led to the Sioux Falls Area Fugitive Task Force going after him on Tuesday, finding Hill in an apartment near Pioneer Spray Park just after 11 a.m. He’s now charged with four counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement after police say he made comments about shooting officers. The standoff lasted for more than six hours before SWAT members were able to force Hill out.
