(Sioux Falls, SD) — Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken is scheduled to speak at a news conference today on the campaign against Initiated Measure 28. If passed in November, IM28 would repeal what’s known as the “grocery tax,” or the tax on anything sold for human consumption. TenHaken now chairs a statewide ballot question committee called South Dakotans Against a State Income Tax. Mayor TenHaken opposes IM28 as he believes it would create a huge gap in the budget and lead to the create of a state income tax.
