Sioux Falls Mother Charged In Connection With Baby’s Death

(Sioux Falls, SD) — A young Sioux Falls mother is charged with manslaughter. Ashlynn Swenson-Marshall is accused of leaving her two-month-old baby alone in a bathtub, where he drowned on July 20th. Prosecutors decided to file charges about a month later after taking a closer look at the results of the police investigation. She told investigators when she came back in the room, she found the baby face down in the tub. Efforts to revive the infant failed and the baby brought to the hospital, where he died three days later. Police say it was the time factor that probably played a role in the manslaughter charge.
