(Sioux Falls, SD) — Voting machines are being put to the test by Sioux Falls officials ahead of Tuesday’s city election. Leaders at the Minnehaha County Auditor’s Office gave the public an inside look at how the tabulation machines work by running sample ballots through yesterday. Jermery Washington, a Sioux Falls City Clerk, said they intentionally made mistakes on ballots earlier this week to make sure that the machine would pick those up and separate those. Officials ran ballots with predetermined totals and patterns yesterday, then looked at the results to find if the patterns matched. They reported that the test run went smoothly.
