(Pierre, SD) — The Dakotas are being recognized for having the lowest unemployment in the nation. According to the latest report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, South Dakota is second at two-point-one percent after numbers tallied from March. That’s just barely behind sister state, North Dakota, sitting at an even two percent. Looking by county in South Dakota — Aurora, Brule, Faulk, Hand and Jerauld were all down to one-point-three percent. These numbers came from an overview of recent conditions in the current Labor Bulletin that’s assembled each month by the state Department of Labor and Regulation. Minnehaha, Pennington and Lincoln counties are just under two percent.
