South Dakota $700M Investment On Water Projects

(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota is rushing to spend around seven-hundred million dollars on state water and sewer projects. Lawmakers, state agency leaders and water system managers have to work together to invest the money quickly because it comes from the American Rescue Plan Act, a COVID relief package. All of the funds have to be allocated by the end of this year and spend it by the end of 2026 or send it back to Washington for possible usage by other states. Most of the seven-hundred million has been directed towards projects, but only a third of it has been spent.
