South Dakota AG Warns Of Medicare Scams

(Pierre, SD) — Attorney General Marty Jackley has a new warning for South Dakotans. According to Jackley, there’s been a rise of scammers claiming to be from Medicare. He says the scammers call individuals threatening to take away Medicare benefits, adding they will do anything they can to convince the person to disclose personal or financial information. Consumer Protection Division urges folks to avoid giving financial information over the phone, being wary of calls that do not show up on caller ID, and not accepting back, knee or wrist braces that are mailed to them that they never ordered.
