(Sioux Falls, SD) — Multiple South Dakota communities are being awarded child care grants from the state. The Governor’s Office of Economic Development announced the funds as part of Governor Noem’s Investment Plan for Child Care. More than a million dollars has been awarded to twenty-eight entities in the state for planning grants. That money will be utilized to develop innovative strategies and detailed plans to expand childcare opportunities throughout South Dakota. It comes as the state has been battling a child care crisis this year with lack of staff and resources.
