(Pierre, SD) — A survey of South Dakota preschools is underway. The state Departments of Education and Social Services are undertaking the statewide survey as a way to better understand the quality of care children receive. Officials say the survey will help determine if additional funding by the state would improve outcomes for children who attend preschools. Preschools in South Dakota don’t currently receive state funding to operate.
