(Pierre, SD) — Analysts say South Dakota enjoys a strong economy this new year, though businesses face challenges. A monthly Mid-America Manufacturing Index published by Creighton University shows South Dakota outpacing the region economically. Jobs growth and wage growth are proving to be important factors in the state’s economy. The state’s wage growth is about three times above inflation. Among those responding to the survey, 46 percent say a recession is a top concern for them this year.
