(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota is feeling the autumn heat wave hanging over the Midwest to start fall. Sioux Falls broke the record for hottest recorded October day Sunday, hitting 95 degrees. The previous high was 94 set back in 1963. Temperature records that have stood for more than a century across the region could fall this week. Highs across the region are usually in the 60s and lower 70s at the start of October.
