South Dakota Holiday Spending

(Pierre, SD) — The National Retail Federation is releasing its holiday shopping spending predictions, including numbers for South Dakota. The average holiday shopper is expected to spend close to nine-hundred dollars this season. In South Dakota, the state retail group says shoppers and retailers are “cautiously optimistic” about holiday shopping. One notable trend is to buy more needed items like clothes, boots, and even restaurant and grocery store gift cards. Overall, spending is expected to increase between three and four percent.
