South Dakota Medicaid Expansion Underway

(Pierre, SD) — More than 50-thousand South Dakotans will be eligible for Medicaid on July 1st after South Dakota voted to expand the program in November. But for some who are eligible, the window to apply opened Thursday. A family of four earning roughly less than 41-thousand will qualify under the new guidelines starting next month. Applicants who aren’t approved by July 1st will still have options, but officials are recommending not to delay.
