South Dakota National Guard Going To US-Mexico Border

(Pierre, SD) — Governor Kristi Noem says South Dakota National Guard troops are being deployed to the southern border later this summer. Noem’s office made the announcement Thursday that at least 50 troops will be sent. Twelve other Republican governors around the country have also pledged National Guard help. It’s the third time in two years that Noem has deployed National Guard troops to the southern border. The timeline of when they will go this time is still unclear.
