(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota is recording the lowest unemployment rate in U.S. history. In June, the state’s jobless rate was one-point-eight percent. Previously, it tied for the lowest historic rate of one-point-nine percent. Governor Noem called South Dakotans the “hardest working folks” and said the record low jobless numbers are proof of that.
