(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota still remains in drought. Just about all of the state is at least experiencing moderate drought. However, the entire western side and much of the south is enduring severe to extreme conditions. There hasn’t been much improvement heading into winter, and very little moisture fell over the past week despite some flurries and light snow for some. Warmer than average temperatures are also expected to move in through the weekend.
